The date of the foundation is 1827, when 8 small rooms for bathing were attached to the main building of the local tavern.

The local people knew about medical properties of the sources long ago, but it was only in 1835-1841 by the Lviv chemist T.Torosevych made a chemical analysis of the water of the spring "Ferdinand", "Marija", "Naftousia".

The first mud baths were built in 1843. Since that time the number of people who come to cure themselves grow. Since 1935 the treatment year to year at the resort becomes all yearround. The town got the status of the Europian resort..
